Fixings, furniture and painting

How do I fill small wall-plug holes before painting?

A small dry hole in a sound wall can take a substrate-compatible filler. This does not repair a moving crack.

NAPREMO guide · Updated: 4 November 2026.

What you can do

  1. Remove the projecting screw and loose material without enlarging the hole. Do not drill deeper blindly.
  2. Remove dust and choose filler suitable for the substrate, depth and room conditions. Follow layer and drying limits.
  3. Level as instructed, remove dust and use compatible primer and paint. Test a small area.

How to tell whether it helped

The repair should be dry, firm and level without sinking. A painted patch may still differ in colour or texture.

When to stop

Find the cause first if the wall is damp, crumbling or repeatedly cracking.

How NAPREMO can help

NAPREMO can prepare and repaint the area or wall when a spot repair remains visible.
