What you can do
- Clean and dry the fixing area; check the seat and ceramic bowl for cracks.
- Find top or bottom access in the seat instructions. Use quick release only as described.
- Centre the seat and gently tighten with the correct tool. Do not force the ceramic or the soft-close mechanism.
How to tell whether it helped
The seat should remain centred and stable during normal use.
When to stop
Stop for cracked ceramic, a damaged hinge or a screw that spins without gripping.
