Moisture and bathrooms

Water forms on the inside of the window. Is the window leaking?

Indoor condensation often involves humid air and a cold surface; it does not prove the window is faulty.

What you can do

  1. Identify whether moisture is inside, outside or between the panes.
  2. Ventilate briefly and keep air inlets and ventilation grilles clear.
  3. Observe whether the glass dries and whether walls or corners are also damp.

How to tell whether it helped

Compare similar conditions. Less condensation does not prove a wall is dry; moisture between panes is a different fault.

When to stop

Persistent moisture, mould, wet masonry or mist between panes needs assessment. Do not block ventilation.
