Buildings and shared areas

A tile moves or comes loose. Can it simply be glued?

Movement needs assessment of adhesion and substrate. A hollow tapping sound alone cannot define the damage.

NAPREMO guide · Updated: 4 November 2026.

What you can do

  1. Avoid walking on a moving tile. Photograph the area, cracked joints and damp marks.
  2. Do not inject random glue through grout or tile over an unstable covering.
  3. Determine the extent, substrate and waterproofing condition before choosing adhesive and repair.

How to tell whether it helped

After proper repair and curing the tile should not move. New grout alone does not prove adhesion is restored.

When to stop

Wall or facade tiles can fall. Keep people away and notify the manager; call 112 for immediate danger.
